The wind may be blowing my hair, but this skirt is not going anywhere :) Greetings from Edisto Beach, my favorite place to get away from it all. After completing Burda pattern 6769, I'm adding a new garment to my list of clothes I will never buy again ~ a jean skirt. In fact, I believe this is the most perfect skirt I've ever sewn. I'm not sure why I do not sew more Burda patterns because I've only experienced success with each one, especially with the fit. Holy Moley ~ is this fabric ever ____________! I believe the Medium who told me I needed more yellow in my life would be very, very pleased ;) Julie and I are making tunics for a traveling trunk show once The Tunic Bible is released.   TGIF Dear Readers! Would you believe I never wore Maxis until I started sewing? I just finished my 'Weekend Maxi', perfect for leisurely Saturday strolls through markets and poolside afternoons. Here it is when I'm standing at attention. The pattern is Simplicity 1612 , a very easy sew with some pizzazz thanks to the cute details. Greetings from Edisto Island! Hubby and I are on the grounds of the island's historic Presbyterian Church now in its fourth century of worship, and which we found to be a perfect setting for photos. I was briefly tempted to spend $326 on a shirtdress I saw online before walking into a shop and seeing it on a hanger. I snapped to my senses upon feeling the paper thin silk on the shapeless garment. The photographer for Mimi's wedding said she preferred cloudy skies and overcast days for shooting photographs and she got her wish on this cold winter day ;) In preparing for the last Mood Sewing Network post, Hubby and I thought the gray skies and harsh glares would work in our favor too.
