The Big Ball

26 Nov The Big Ball

As promised I’m posting a picture of the group in full regalia!

What? Why yes, of course the ruching above the knee is intentional. It’s really difficult to do you know………

In all seriousness, it was a great evening and well worth the $48.00 investment. Was the dress worth the investment of nearly three weeks?? And why is it that my greatest efforts of time and largest amount of money are devoted to special event attire? I’m looking forward to making clothes I can wear everyday again.

Two weeks ago a friend told me that since I gave up shopping for a year and started sewing –  my clothes are the cutest they have ever been. I’m taking it as a compliment….

Thank you! A successful ending almost always makes the time and effort worthwhile. By the way, I love your blog 🙂

$48 – no way, looks more like $480 at least!!! And as for the three weeks effort – it would have taken you twice as long to find such a stunning dress that fits like this in the shops. Looks like the dress was a huge success on the night. Again, well done!

Thank you so much and you are right! I would have spent enormous amounts of time looking for a dress which I had not considered in my post. I guess my point was that I should pay equal attention to my everyday wardrobe.

What a terrific photo of everyone and beautiful dresses — only one of which came in at $48 — but looks like a million bucks — I feel sure. Congratulations! I look forward to the next installment of GV.

      Thank you Elaine!
You are correct – only one came in at $48.00 !! Now that the event is behind me, I’m so glad I didn’t cave in and buy something. Besides my family, only one other person there knew I made my dress. I told myself to -wear it with confidence and no one will have the slightest idea – and that seemed to be the case.
