I am always looking for something to make simple garments stand out, so embellishment ideas are great.
    Thanks

Congratulations Mary. When I got the email from Goodbye Valentino, my heart beat faster as I thought: “I won! I won!” But alas, it was not to be (this time anyways). I know the book will be in good hands. Congrats again!

I am so behind on my blog reading and hate that I missed an opportunity to win this book. Congratulations to Mary. Sarah, thanks for posting information about your trip to Nashville and this book. I have to add this one to my sewing library.

Congratulations Mary! and Thank You Sarah for hosting the Giveaway!
I hope everyone has chance to use my book Creating Couture Embellishments-either their own copy or through a library copy. There’s lots of good information in the book; I am continually surprised by how much stuff is in the book myself!
    Thanks again Sarah.
    xo, Ellen

I was sewing today and realised every day whether doing embroidery, sewing or quilting I am using my Pilot FRIXION pen. I can write on fabric and have had 100% success with the markings disappearing when I iron the fabric. A godsend when ensuring your patches are square. Today I cut out pieces for a quilt and simply numbered each piece so no guessing what attaches to what. I have the pen in several colours but generally the darker colours show up best on all fabrics. Found some at a reduced cost amongst the stationary supplies sold during going back to school weeks. Much cheaper than haberdashery/quilting stores.

Congratulations Mary, you’re going to love the book! I met Ellen Miller last week at a meeting of the NE Chapter of ASDP – we were sewing for the preemie unit at UMass Memorial hospital, and Ellen came to her first meeting to help out. She is truly a delight, and I too was so impressed with her book that I bought it the next day. It’s decorating my coffee table for now, for all to enjoy!
