01 May The Tunic Bible!
Tory Burch?
Elizabeth McKay?
Devon Baer,Trina Turk?
Introducing…
Correct.
One Pattern, Interchangeable Pieces and Endless Possibilities!
For months Julie and I have kept the details of our book under wraps at the request of our publishers at C&T Publishing. Now we are thrilled to bring you the big reveal 🙂
Last year we entered a tunic-state-of-mind determined to capture the details that characterize our favorite tunic labels, such as Sail to Sable, Tory Burch, Jude Connally, Gretchen Scott, Devon Baer, Lilly Pulitzer and more.
We realized the tunic bodice is a constant. Changing a single detail such as a neckline, placket, trim, collar or length can affect the tunic’s entire appearance leading us to our aha moment ~
One Bodice, Interchangable Components, Endless Possibilities
Scheduled for release in the early Fall, we have created The Tunic Bible for home sewers of diverse sewing skills, from basic to advanced. Our one-stop pattern and lookbook combine the components needed to make unlimited fashionable tunics whether your style is everyday casual or preppy chic, boho or glamorous. Additionally, the book includes a full size pattern in sizes XS to XXL.
We believe there is a tunic in all of us, and therefore designed The Tunic Bible to guide you through finding the look that fits your style, selecting fabrics and trims, fitting the bodice, assembling the garment and adding embellishments.
Loaded with inspiration galore, the lookbook features our collection of dozens of tunics as well as a fantastic gallery of tunics created by online sewists you’re sure to recognize!
Valentino?
But of course! Gallery sewist, Cissie Wellons created her jaw-dropping tunic from our pattern in a stunning Valentino silk.
We invite you to join us on this most exciting journey of creating those sought after ready-to-wear tunics on demand, and please stay tuned, for there is much more to come!
Available for pre-order on Amazon here!
Until soon 😉

Christine McMorran
Posted at 01:41h, 03 MayThank you so much for creating your tunic book. I have per-ordered my copy from Amazon and wish you both every success. You deserve it. I am a subscriber and have been following your articles for about a year now but have never before made a comment – preferring to watch quietly from the wings. Your infectious enthusiasm and your beautiful garments have helped drive me to return to sewing and at present I am intent on making my first ‘Little French Jacket’. From necessity I started sewing at 13, and then from the love of it took my first job at 16 with a top Australian Bridal shop as a ‘hand sewer’. At 19 I even tackled my own wedding gown – albeit with some misplaced confidence when I realized at one point I had made two right sleeves. Children arrived, grew up and left and over time the sewing declined but then by chance sitting at my computer one day (ah the remarkable age of technology) I discovered people such as yourself and the inclination to sew came to life again. My sewing journey now continues as I am able to watch, learn and be inspired by wonderful people such as yourself half a world away and for that I am truly grateful.
goodbyevalentino
Posted at 10:29h, 03 MayChristine ~ Comments like yours simply melt my heart. I am truly touched when I learn my actions have inspired others. Thank you so much for your lovely remarks and good luck with your return to sewing 🙂 🙂
PS…. I hope you saved your wedding dress!

Alex Hill
Posted at 12:37h, 19 NovemberI have a question for you, and I am hoping that this will be a good place to ask it.
I have The Tunic Bible, and I have made (so far) three tunics. I’m having a little trouble with my fitting muslin, though, and each tweak I make doesn’t quite do it.
It turns out that I have broad shoulders! I didn’t realize this before trying to make sure that my master pattern was perfect. I am fairly slender, though, so I don’t need bigger sleeves to go with a bigger shoulder size. Thus, it seems to me I can’t just cut a (for example) size 10 or 12 top and grade in to a size 8 hip.
Can you suggest an approach I can use? It’s not a problem sizing the waist or the hips – it’s those danged shoulders.
