My New Machine – Pfaff Creative Icon

08 Oct My New Machine – Pfaff Creative Icon

In June I had the distinct pleasure of becoming a Pfaff Ambassador and received the Pfaff Creative 4.5 as an introduction to the Pfaff brand.

Last week, I received Pfaff’s newest, most advanced sewing and embroidery machine, The Creative Icon  just introduced to the market.

IMG_0062

The machine is unlike any I’ve seen….. it knows my name, talks to my computer, and just looking at it puts my sewing on another level. I begin learning how to apply its multitude of capabilities this week, and I  look forward to sharing my Creative Icon sewing experiences.

I’ve had the Creative Icon for 6 days, long enough to find my way around and sew the dress I’m wearing (on the Mood Sewing Network and blog later this week).

This smart machine features a 10-inch wifi touch screen loaded with tutorials, decorative stitches and embroidery designs. It sends alerts to your smartphone as well as status updates on your projects. Also included is mySewnet cloud storage, PFAFF® SewNotice alerts and auto software notifications, and PFAFF® ImageStitch .

The workspace is large enough to easily accommodate projects such as quilts, home dec and my latest dress with a 144″ circumference.

IMG_0024

One feature I immediately loved is its ingenious lighting strategically placed to view your project from any angle regardless of poor room lighting.

When my neighbor learned I sew most of my clothes his comment was “What? You mean people still do that? I thought that died with the dinosaurs!” This is no dinosaur, Baby!

I have so much to learn about this remarkable machine, but I can testify that thus far it is the most incredible sewing machine I have ever seen, touched or used.

So stay tuned, Dear Readers, for there is lots to come!

Until soon 🙂

Woohoo! I get mine tomorrow from the shop you got your first machine. I moved down to SC and was dismayed by the distance to the neatest Pfaff dealer. Lo and behold, while I was readinf your blog a couple of months ago I found out about the Charleston dealer – just in time to get the new Icon! 😍 can’t wait!

Phew Pfaff what a beast! Your neighbour wants to wake up to the incredible creations you make, like I mentioned before I don’t sew anymore, it’s just one of those things but I just love your blog for your amazing style. I adore your creations and the last blouse with back embroidered sleeves was as I said was worthy for Carolina Herrera to wear herself and this red red dress well words
fail. It’s gorgeous. Another for Carolina to wear!
In the 1970s my husband and I lived in Germany for 3 yrs and he bought me a Pfaff sewing machine as I used to make my clothes then, I had it for many years, I wish I had kept it, yeh compared to your modern beast my truly did belong in the Jurassic period! Chuckles just a bit of fun, but it was a good machine Pfaff are the best.
Enjoy your new machine it looks a beauty. I look forward to your other creations,
    Love Pamela,

The machine looks amazing and I know you will enjoy it. I have an older edition Pfaff embroidery machine and two incredible Bernina embroidery machines. When I see what they can do, I think how amazed my grandmother would be to see these machines. They are truly incredible! I absolutely love your dress and your sewing skills are just great!

Congratulations on your new adventure! I am anxiously waiting to hear about this new machine. It looks like the Tesla of sewing machines, and I know you can manage it, but I wonder if it is too complicated for some of us? Nevertheless, very exciting. Pfaff couldn’t have picked a better person to showcase these machines and their advantages.

Posted at 11:21h, 08 October Reply

It’s definitely worthy of a Tesla comparison, Becky! My thought is this – if you can operate a computer you can operate this machine. While it’s technically advanced, the Creative Icon is not too complicated for anyone with basic sewing skills. Many thanks for your comment!

My husband was just commenting yesterday that a man he knew 40 years ago said he had bought his wife a Pfaff and paid almost as much for it as he would have a car 🙂

Congratulations Sarah! The PFAFF Creative Icon is truly an incredible machine and no doubt you will do it justice. I have been a PFAFF owner since 1982 when I started sewing wedding gowns. I still have that 1222 SE along with 3 others…including the PFAFF EXPRESSION 3.5 that I bought as an anniversary gift for my husband 2 years ago. He LOVES it! When we were visiting the San Diego area last month, I went to the store where I’ve purchased all of my machines for the past 17 years. I already knew that the CREATIVE ICON was way out of my budget, so I looked at the CREATIVE 4.5 that you had been using. But then…the shop owner, who has known me all of these years, showed me the CREATIVE SENSATION PRO II and made me an offer that I “couldn’t refuse!” So I bought it on the spot and put it in my already packed car and drove back to Arkansas! Oh my!!! She is amazing even though it’s the predecessor to the ICON. Still…it’s PFAFF and that ALWAYS means carefree creativity and quality. Every time! Happy sewing Sarah! Well deserved! Looking forward to seeing all of your beautiful makes.

      Frana,
It is an expensive machine for sure. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to sew on this incredible sewing machine. I remember when my husband bought a $2,500 machine for me many years ago, and I couldn’t get over the price! Through the years, I’ve been amazed at the development of sewing machines, but of course with each new feature the price goes up.
Today’s machines are investments. Many dealers in the US offer trade- ins and interest free financing similar to cars! Fortunately, Pfaff offers a variety of machines to fit the needs, skills and budgets of most every sewist 🙂

So how does one go about becoming a Pfaff ambassador? I’ve been sewing with Pfaff all my life and absolutely LOVE Pfaff. You couldn’t get me to go for any other machine. I teach sewing to a few people and I’ve convinced 4 of them to get a Pfaff machine. I’d be interested to find out how to become an ambassador.
