I loved all the wax prints and a shawl is so creative. I have some cotton that my daughter brought me from Kenya, but it is a border print and for the life of me, haven’t figured out what to do with it.. Maybe a shawl with the border as the ruffle. Hmmmmm. I will be at the quilt con next week and look forward to meeting you.

    Well deserved!!

Just over two years ago I needed to buy a new car – it was either that, or my 22 year old car and buying new RTW clothing. The new car came up trumps and I have returned to my passion which I have had for 45 years now. And now I know why for more years than I can count, I had a cupboard overflowing with RTW clothing, but nothing to wear. I have spent many hours in the last two years altering RTW clothing to suit my figure!

Sarah your style is an inspiration to me. So I avidly follow your blog to see what you are up to next!

Every time I come to your blog I’m inspired to get in there and sew, sew, sew. So I do. Or try. I used to sew all the time. In the ’80’s I made almost everything. Started sewing as a teenager in the 1970’s. Then for some reason I stopped. Gained weight. Lots of weight. Lost the weight. Have the sewing urge again, but can’t get even the simplest pattern to fit. I spend my time on muslins now, eventually putting it down for a few months before giving it another try. After reading your blog posts again today, I’m headed to the sewing room. Thanks for inspiring us!

Oona’s funky, fun styling is a breath of fresh air and only Peter could look good wearing bubbles (that’s what his print reminded me of) and of course the way you turned a simple wrap into a luxurious must have was fabulous. Great job!

I’ve made men’s suits, wedding dresses, Miss America pageant dresses, swimsuits, lingerie – you name it, I’ve made something like it. Yet, I love the challenge of “Goodbye Valentino!” not buying, but sewing only. How fun.
Wish you would run one of those challenges again this year. I’d accept the challenge!

Great job on the shawl. I really like your jeans skirt sewn in that fun stripe. Thanks for the inspiration and encouragement.

Hope I win. Would like to purchase some fabric to start making my own couture French jacket. Also, want to purchase your tunic bible. Something I can definitely use. Keep up the great blogging.
